Electoral Literacy Clubs (ELCs) are dynamic platforms designed to involve college students in engaging activities and hands-on experiences that raise awareness about their electoral rights and acquaint them with the registration and voting processes. These clubs extend their reach beyond college to include surrounding and rural communities.
Within the framework of ELCs, the intersection of learning and enjoyment takes center stage. Specially crafted activities and games aim to stimulate and inspire students, encouraging them to think critically and pose thoughtful questions. The Election Commission of India, through the ELC initiative, seeks to bolster a culture of active electoral participation among the youth, nurturing informed and responsible future voters.
Our mission at the Electoral Literacy Club is to cultivate a vibrant culture of electoral awareness and participation among college students. We aspire to provide a platform where students not only gain a profound understanding of their electoral rights and responsibilities but also develop the critical thinking skills necessary to become informed and engaged citizens.
